Half Way Done

Well....Its a done deal, JJ is half way done with Chiropractic school as of yesterday!!!!! and he passed all his finals....yipee!!!! In a couple of weeks he will be entering trimester 6 and there are 10 trimesters total. In the mean time I am enjoying every ounce of my hubby being home on his two week break. It is so crazy to think that we are now half way done and I do not know where the time went? Congrats to JJ for making it this far!

But on a different note, this whole half way done thing has been a little unsettling to me. When we first came here to live and met so many good couples that were far far ahead of our measly ol' tri one stage (like tri five, six and seven), I thought that for sure by the time that we hit that stage (the half way mark), that we would know where we are going to end up for the rest of our lives. Or at least upon graduation. But as of now, I think we are more confused than when we got here. I really admire JJ for his adventurous attitude. Not knowing what the future holds is exciting and thrilling to him, and in a way it is for me too, but I kinda like to have a game plan and maybe a least know what country I might live in. Is that too much for a girl to ask? So far we have considered in alphabetical order:
Alabama
Arizona
Australia
California (Many different cities)
Costa Rica
Illinois
Kentucky
Missouri
Ohio
Texas
West Virginia
I'm sure many more will add to the list as time goes on.

It might be a girl thing, or maybe just a me thing but there is some security for me in knowing where your future lies and where you are going to raise your kids, even if it is just to have a mental picture; a mental picture to place some surroundings with the house you will live in and the memories made. To those of you who know where you are going, have a plan, have some direction.... good for you! It must feel nice. To the rest of us, lets hope we are guided and directed to where we are suppose to be, and in the mean time, I'll try to adopt more of JJ's philosophy, "Whatever happens, happens, and it will be for the best."

One Crazy Husband

Besides being engulfed in these Twilight books and this mysterious Edward character, the reason for a lack of posts this week is because our whole family has been sick. Well, it started with JJ and then kinda went down the line and ended with myself. About two weeks ago we went to the annual pool party for his school at the water park. Of course JJ couldn't contain himself when he heard that there would be a belly flop contest and the two people that did the best would get prizes. JJ actually did pretty good to my surprise and got third place, but after all was done he was complaining that his throat hurt. I guess he landed on his throat both times???..... don't ask me how one would manage that! For two weeks after, his throat was progressively getting worse until it developed into a full blown cold (perfect timing....right around finals). Well anyone who knows JJ knows that he definitely got into the right profession because he has never been one to browse the drug store isle. Leave it to him to create some weird natural concoction of fresh garlic, cayenne pepper, and honey. I had to get this one on film......

Needless to say, he was too sick to go to bed that night cause he felt like he was going to throw up.... who would have thunk? So we went on a midnight walk with the fam and it helped a little. So now that he is doing much better, I'm sicker than a dog but not sick enough to try that stuff! I think JJ feels bad for making me sick, because today he made me a nice dinner, with some fresh squeezed orange juice (cause he said I needed my vitamin C), homeaid "healthy" oatmeal cookies and he did all the dishes....I guess he made up for the no sleep, crying kids, runny noses, and 20 boxes of tissues.

David Archuleta in the making

Ever since Dominic popped out of the womb pretty much, he has always responded to music. As a little baby he would turn his head around and perk up if he ever heard any music around. Well since I am the hugest american idol fan ever and loved David Archuleta to the point where I wanted to grab him through the screen and squeeze his cheeks off at some points in the show, I told JJ that with Dominic, he can forget getting him in any sports and all he is going to do is play piano and sing like David Archuleta, pretty much be a blond David Archuleta, minus all the screaming little girls flocking over him (I wont allow that!!) Lately I have been just keeping music playing on our computer and I'll clean the house or do whatever, and I have noticed he is picking up on the songs and can carry quite the tune!

I tried having him sing for the camera but he got a little camera shy, so I had to catch him off guard, I apologize for the delay at the end, I guess he was more interested in some paper.....

Okay, so he could use a little work, but I said David Archuleta in the making. One day he will live out his mother's dream. And my new found goal?..... to be one of those stage moms that demand my son be front and center stage at ALL times!

From humble beginnings.....

Fun with the Davis Family

This past weekend since Jared was participating in a triathlon (way to go Jared!), as a good friend would do, we thought we would go and cheer him on. Well, also the triathlon was held at a beautiful resort with over 70 lakes, so we were a little selfish in that we also wanted to swim and relax on the beach. It was a very fun long day, but so glad we went.
Family, friends, fun, what more do you need?.....maybe some aloe vera cause we all got so sun burned....

Here We Go Again!

Alright folks, round two for your entertainment and delight. We bought some cute new bows for Riah the other day, and what do you know.....
He was very adamant about where each bow was to be placed in his hair. Humm, still hoping its just a faze....

Here is Riah in her, I like to call it her 80's outfit. All she needs is to grow some hair so I can crimp it in a sideways pony tail.
